(39741) Komm Mars-crossing Asteroid

Discovered on 9 January 1997 by R. A. Tucker at Goodricke-Pigott.

Rudolf Walter Komm (b. 1957) has contributed substantially to the study of solar activity. His studies include tracing the movements of active regions, measuring fluctuations in solar oscillations and determining flows in granulation. Komm has also developed several innovative methods of time-series analysis.Naming citation (20030806/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
