(788153) Trabia Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 1 August 2016 by COIAS at Maunakea.

Trabia is a Sicilian municipality near Palermo. In 1154, on behalf of King Ruggero II of Sicily, the Arab geographer al-Idrisi documented the production of itriya, a thread-like pasta considered the ancestor of spaghetti. It is therefore one of the oldest places linked to the tradition of pasta, a symbol of Italian gastronomic excellence.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 5, #17, 32), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
