Discovered on 2 March 1992 by UESAC at La Silla.

Tingstäde is a parish on Gotland. In Tingstäde Träsk, a swamp that is the second largest lake on the island, the remains of a timber construction involving some 10 000 logs, probably from the sixth century, is still visible on the lake floor.Naming citation (19991123/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
