(16155) Buddy Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 3 January 2000 by J. Broughton at Reedy Creek.

Charles Hardin Holley (Buddy Holly, 1936-1959), was a singer/songwriter from Lubbock, Texas, who was clearly the brightest star since Elvis when, at the age of 22, he was tragically killed in a plane crash. His life has been celebrated on film and in the long running musical Buddy. His songs remain as timeless as ever.Naming citation (20010509/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
