(13298) Namatjira Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 15 September 1998 by J. Broughton at Reedy Creek.

Landscape painter Albert Namatjira (1902-1959) was one of Australia's greatest artists. As an aboriginal he could not own land under the archaic laws of the time until public outrage forced the government to grant him full citizenship in 1957. A decade later this led to equal rights for all.Naming citation (20010509/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
