Discovered on 8 January 2002 by B. L. Stevens at Desert Moon.
Daniel M. Troiani (b. 1952) is an avid amateur astronomer dedicated to planetary observing, especially of Mars, on which he rediscovered the Rima Tenuis in 1979. He has contributed greatly to the Mars Section of the Association of Lunar and Planetary Observers and has made 15~000 observations for the AAVSO.Naming citation (20100527/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
