Discovered on 8 January 2002 by ADAS at Cima Ekar.
Nilda Oklay (b. 1981) is a Turkish planetary scientist. She has contributed to numerical modeling of impacts on asteroids at the Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research (Germany), and has described the distribution and evolution of volatile material on cometary surfaces by analyzing and interpreting data from the Rosetta mission.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 3, #13, 18), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
