Discovered on 10 April 1999 by LONEOS at Anderson Mesa.

Stephen C. Tegler (b. 1962), of Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, is a planetary astronomer who has studied the chemical composition of comets and the physical properties of Kuiper Belt Objects. His KBO colorimetry implies a correlation with dynamical class.Naming citation (20050721/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
