(10617) Takumi Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 25 October 1997 by Hirasawa, M., Suzuki, S. at Nyukasa.
Amateur astronomer Takumi Takahata (b. 1941) has created many computer programs that are used for astronomical calculations. The “measurescope” Takumi lent to the discoverers was used to determine the coordinates of this minor planet.Naming citation (19991123/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
