(8530) Korbokkur Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 25 October 1992 by Hirasawa, M., Suzuki, S. at Nyukasa.

According to the legend of the Ainu people of northern Japan, the members of the Korbokkur tribe were only 3 to 6 cm tall and moved so swiftly they were difficult to see. Satoru Sato began publishing Korbokkur tales in 1959. They are very popular in Japan, and not only for children.Naming citation (19991123/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
