(33975) Shotatakahashi Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 5 July 2000 by LONEOS at Anderson Mesa.

Shota Takahashi (b. 1994) is a Japanese aerospace engineer. He developed novel approaches to the autonomous navigation and mapping of small asteroids using spacecraft. Using his approach it would be possible to carry out an entire mapping mission at an asteroid with no ground intervention, from rendezvous to eventually entering a stable orbit about the body.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 4, #1, 7), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
