(12380) Sciascia Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 10 August 1994 by E. W. Elst at La Silla.

Leonardo Sciascia (1921-1989), a Sicilian novelist and polemicist, wrote many books revolving around the hallucinatory realties of Sicilian life. Sharing with Stendhal the same adamant clarity and bone-dry wit, he is particularly well-known for his Il mare colore del vino.Naming citation (20040504/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
