(55427) Rosta Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 14 October 2001 by Asiago-DLR Asteroid Survey at Cima Ekar.

Rosta is an ancient Italian municipality in Piedmont. It is likely that in the pre-Roman period it was a Celtic garrison and, later, it was a transit station for the Romans' passages towards Gaul, as well as for Constantine's legions in the 4th century.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 5, #11, 12), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
