(11964) Prigogine Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 10 August 1994 by E. W. Elst at La Silla.
Ilya Prigogine (1917-2003) was honored with the 1977 Nobel Prize in chemistry for his work on non-equilibrium thermodynamics. He was born in Moscow but moved to Belgium in 1929, where he studied and worked at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, especially on dissipative structures.Naming citation (20030910/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
