(29555) MACEK Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 18 February 1998 by Tichy, M., Moravec, Z. at Klet.

A partial anagram of the Czech word for microaccelerometer, MACEK was designed under the leadership of the Astronomical Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences to measure extremely low levels of acceleration on board artificial satellites. Its performance has been proven aboard Space Shuttle STS-79.Naming citation (20031110/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
