(166028) Karikokatalin Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 11 January 2002 by Sarneczky, K., Heiner, Z. at Piszkesteto.
Katalin Karikó (b. 1955) is a Hungarian biochemist, whose research has been the development of in vitro-transcribed mRNA for protein therapies. Her work includes the scientific research of RNA-mediated immune activation, resulting in the co-discovery of the nucleoside modifications that suppress the immunogenicity of RNA.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 1, #12, 9), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
