(6921) Janejacobs Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 14 May 1993 by Ueda, S., Kaneda, H. at Kushiro.

Having moved to New York City during the Depression, Jane Jacobs (1916-2006) was way ahead of her time in championing the idea that cities are more important than nations in the “real economic world”. Cities should not be laboratories for ill-placed expressways and housing projects but left to develop by themselves.Naming citation (20060613/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
