(22611) Galerkin Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 17 May 1998 by P. G. Comba at Prescott.
Boris Grigorievich Galerkin (1871-1945) studied engineering in his native Russia and abroad. His scientific work centered on various problems in the theory of elasticity and structural mechanics, in particular the curvature of thin plates and the torsion and flexure of prismatic rods.Naming citation (20010804/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
