(6284) Borisivanov Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 2 March 1981 by S. J. Bus at Siding Spring.
Boris Ivanov (b. 1948) of the Institute for Dynamics of Geospheres in Moscow has made many contributions to the geological and geophysical study of terrestrial impact craters through explosion simulations and computer modeling. He has also clarified the physical processes that determine planetary crater populations.Naming citation (20020624/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
