(23989) Farpoint Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 3 September 1999 by Hug, G., Bell, G. at Eskridge.

Farpoint Observatory was constructed near the towns of Harveyville and Eskridge, Kansas. Finished in Sept. 1997, this facility was a project of the Northeast Kansas Amateur Astronomers League, Inc. NEKAAL members worked very hard over years to make Farpoint a first-class amateur-run observatory.Naming citation (20010804/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
