(30883) de Broglie Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 24 September 1992 by Borngen, F., Schmadel, L. D. at Tautenburg.

French physicist Louis-Victor de Broglie (1892-1987), late in deciding on his career, chose for his doctoral thesis in 1924 a revolutionary theory of electron waves, exposing the duality between wave and corpuscle and founding the wave-theory of matter. He received the 1929 Nobel Prize in physics.Naming citation (20020427/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
