(10857) Bluthner Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 5 March 1995 by F. Borngen at Tautenburg.

Julius Blüthner (1824-1910) founded a piano factory in Leipzig in 1853. His instruments found high recognition because of their sonority, tone color and several technical innovations. The name Blüthner inspired friends of music around the world. Despite the elements of mass production, every piano remained a work of art.Naming citation (20000124/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
