(10856) Bechstein Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 4 March 1995 by F. Borngen at Tautenburg.

Carl Bechstein (1826-1900), born in the Thuringian town of Gotha, founded a piano factory in Berlin in 1853. His instruments were used by Liszt, Bülow, Rubinstein and Wagner. Branches of his factory in London, Paris and St. Petersburg testify to the esteem in which Bechstein's instruments are held.Naming citation (20000124/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
