(9442) Beiligong Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 2 April 1997 by Beijing Schmidt CCD Asteroid Program at Xinglong.

Beiligong (Beijing Institute of Technology, BIT) was founded in 1940. With more than 27 000 full-time students currently enrolled, it is one of the national key universities. BIT developed China's first large-scale planetarium, and contributed to the preparatory research of the Five-hundred-meter Aperture Spherical radio Telescope.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 1, #3, 7), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
