(9321) Alexkonopliv Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 5 January 1989 by T. Kojima at Chiyoda.
Alex Konopliv (b. 1960), a principal scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, is an internationally recognized authority on the determination of gravity fields for those solar-system objects that have tracking data from an orbiting spacecraft. His gravity fields for Mars have supported several spacecraft missions.Naming citation (20100130/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
