(3829) Gunma Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 10 March 1988 by T. Kojima at Chiyoda.

Named for the prefecture in central Japan that is home to the discoverer. A public astronomical observatory under construction in Gunma will include a 1.5-m telescope, the largest in Japan for public use. This telescope will also be used for astronomical research and discovery.Naming citation (19961026/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
