(13351) Zibeline Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 20 September 1998 by E. W. Elst at La Silla.
Zibeline is the name of a small animal (Martes zibellina), that generally lives in the colder parts of the globe. Astronomer Chappe d'Auteroche, on his voyage to Tobolsk, Siberia, in 1761, reported how it has been hunted for its beautiful dark fur, resulting in almost complete extinction.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 2, #9, 6), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
Where Zibeline is today
Seen from above the solar system on 2026-10-14: Zibeline is 2.27 au from the Sun and 2.59 au from Earth. Computed from JPL's orbital elements.
