(59381) Yannickmellier Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 16 March 1999 by ODAS at Caussols.

Yannick Mellier (1958–2025) was a French astrophysicist who pioneered work in gravitational lensing and cosmic shear. He contributed to the discovery of the first giant gravitational lens in the galaxy cluster Abell 370 and advanced dark-matter mapping via weak lensing.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 6, #2, 8), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
