Discovered on 2 March 1981 by S. J. Bus at Siding Spring.

Anne J. Verbiscer (b. 1964) is an associate research professor at the University of Virginia who studies the photometric scattering properties of asteroids and icy surfaces, leading to a new understanding of Saturn's large-scale ring structure and evolutionary processes for icy satellite surfaces.Naming citation (MPC batch dated 2014-07-12), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
