(10875) Veracini Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 7 October 1996 by Spacewatch at Kitt Peak.

Francesco Maria Veracini (1690-1768), born in Florence, studied violin with his uncle, Antonio Veracini, and with Casini and Feroci of Florence cathedral. His exuberant compositions and virtuosity caused the young Tartini to isolate himself to practice. The Sonate Accademiche (1711) show remarkable energy and brilliance.Naming citation (20010509/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
