(9052) Uhland Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 30 October 1991 by F. Borngen at Tautenburg.

Named for the German poet Johann Ludwig Uhland (1787-1862), best known for lyric poetry and ballads in which historical and legendary themes dominate, and which were set to music by well-known composers. Uhland is the most famous representative of Swabian Romanticism. In his lifetime, his “Gedichte” (1815) were printed in 42 editions. He also engaged himself in political issues, and in 1848-49 was a member of the Frankfurt parliament.Naming citation (19981005/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
