(6919) Tomonaga Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 16 April 1993 by Endate, K., Watanabe, K. at Kitami.

Named in memory of Shinichiro Tomonaga (1906-1979), Japanese theoretical physicist who was awarded the 1965 Nobel Prize in physics. He made great contributions to the field of quantum electrodynamics, especially in the renormalization theory to remove singularities.Naming citation (19980808/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
