(23294) Sunao Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 23 December 2000 by LONEOS at Anderson Mesa.
Sunao Hasegawa (b. 1969) manages the two-stage light-gas guns facility at the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science at JAXA. The facility is used to study high-velocity impact processes. Hasegawa contributes asteroid observations made by the Japanese infrared satellite AKARI.Naming citation (20120506/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
