(209107) Safranek Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 16 September 2003 by KLENOT at Klet.

Czech experimental physicist Jaroslav Šafránek (1890-1957) designed, demonstrated (1935) and published (1936) a system for the transmission of images by low-line mechanical television. The system failed to find practical application in Czechoslovakia at that time. Later he worked in medical physics.Naming citation (20100527/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
