(29839) Russhoward Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 19 March 1999 by LONEOS at Anderson Mesa.

Russell A. Howard (b. 1941) is an astrophysicist at the US Naval Research Laboratory. A pioneer in solar physics, he has led several space-based coronagraph experiments enabling ground-breaking studies of solar outflows and returning data that yielded the discovery of nearly 4 000 near-Sun comets.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 1, #2, 13), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
