(15395) Rukl Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 21 October 1997 by P. Pravec at Ondrejov.

Czech astronomer Antonín Rükl (b. 1932) was a master of mapping. His precise-retouch lunar maps eliminated the disadvantages of photographs, and he was the first to compile images of the moon from different viewing angles into composite maps. He wrote and illustrated a number of popular astronomy books.Naming citation (20001013/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
