(16358) Plesetsk Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 20 December 1976 by N. S. Chernykh at Nauchnyj.
The Plesetsk (Plesetzk) cosmodrome was founded in 1957. By the end of the 1960s it had become the main launching site in the former Soviet Union. About 2000 satellites---one third of the world's total---were launched from Plesetsk during the half century of its existence.Naming citation (20070402/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
