(20597) Pickersgill Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 11 September 1999 by LINEAR at Socorro.

Annemarie Pickersgill (b. 1987) is a Canadian planetary scientist at the Scottish Universities Environmental Research Centre, investigating the effects of hypervelocity impact cratering processes. They provided a revised age for the Chicxulub “dinosaur killing” impact crater showing hydrothermal systems were much longer lived than previously thought.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 6, #11, 29), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
