(23871) Ousha Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 14 September 1998 by LINEAR at Socorro.
Ousha bint Khalifa Al Suwaidi (1920–2018) was a remarkable Arab Nabati poet. In her early years, a dream weaved a mystic tale; she envisioned herself swallowing the moon. Some believed this nocturnal reverie foretold her extraordinary gift of eloquence, a prophecy that blossomed into reality as she became one of the most celebrated poets in the Arabian Gulf.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 5, #23, 7), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
