(8703) Nakanotadao Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 15 December 1993 by T. Kobayashi at Oizumi.
Tadao Nakano (b. 1926), Osaka City University, proposed in 1953 the so-called Nakano-Nishijima-Gell-Man rule of the statistics of elementary particles, which became one of the foundations of the quark model. His interests also extend to general relativity and to gauge theory.Naming citation (20020921/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
