(8197) Mizunohiroshi Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 15 November 1993 by T. Kobayashi at Oizumi.
Hiroshi Mizuno (b. 1951), Okayama Seishin University, is a theoretician on the origin of our solar system. He developed a theory about the formation of thick atmospheres of giant planets, such as Jupiter, with intensive studies on the sudden accretion of gas onto the solid core. This mechanism is called the Mizuno process.Naming citation (20020921/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
