(7260) Metelli Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 18 March 1994 by Stroncone at Stroncone.
Named in memory of Orneore Metelli (1872-1938). He is internationally acknowledged as the founder of the school of naïve painting. He started painting well past the age of 50 in the back of his shoemaker's shop. In his more than 200 works, he represented a town that is a mirror of the world, a reflection of thousands of aspects of daily life.Naming citation (19981208/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
