(16649) Masayasu Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 15 October 1993 by Endate, K., Watanabe, K. at Kitami.
Masayasu Miyahara (b. 1954) is a Japanese amateur astronomer who has been observing Jupiter for 50 years. He started by making sketches of Jupiter by eye and now makes images of the planet's cloud tops by combining many individual frames.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 3, #3, 11), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
