(8015) Marksimons Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 24 August 1990 by H. E. Holt at Palomar.
American geophysicist Mark Simons (b. 1967) is a Professor of Geophysics at Caltech's Seismological Laboratory. He has been instrumental in advancing the ability of space geodesy and utilizing technologies like interferometric synthetic aperture radar and global navigation satellite systems to measure geodynamic processes on Earth and beyond.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 5, #8, 4), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
