(297409) Mallgan Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 1 September 2000 by A. Brandeker at Saltsjobaden.
Mållgan is the imaginary friend of the fictitious character Alfons Åberg, created by the Swedish author Gunilla Bergström. Many young children have imaginary friends, although they tend to be abandoned with time. The naming of Mallgan is a tribute to all imaginary friends.Naming citation (MPC batch dated 2013-07-22), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
