(12045) Klein Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 30 March 1997 by P. G. Comba at Prescott.

Felix Klein (1849-1925) was a professor of mathematics at Erlangen and later at Göttingen. Deeply impressed by the concept of a group of transformations as a unifying principle in geometry, he spent much of his life developing, applying and popularizing this notion.Naming citation (20000124/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
