Discovered on 15 January 2001 by M. Ory at Vicques.
Jura is the 23rd state of Switzerland, founded on 1974 June 23. The name of the French-speaking state derives from the Jura mountains, which extend from Geneva to Germany. In this rural region people enjoy life and like eating totche, tâte de moine and drinking a damassine.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 4, #14, 4), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
