(5308) Hutchison Main-belt Asteroid
Discovered on 28 February 1981 by S. J. Bus at Siding Spring.
Robert Hutchison (b. 1938) recently retired as curator of meteorites at the Natural History Museum in London. His chemical, mineralogical and petrological studies of chondritic meteorites have advanced our understanding of the early solar system processes leading to the formation of chondrites.Naming citation (20020624/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
