(706882) Hertagessner Outer Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 3 November 2010 by E. Schwab at Tzec Maun.

Herta Lisbeth Geßner (1920–1993) was a German computer from 1956 to 1985 at the Sonneberg Observatory. She discovered numerous variable stars and the minor planet (3642) Frieden, identified in 1980 on photographic plates exposed 27 years earlier by Woldemar Götz, making her the first German woman to discover a minor planet.Naming citation (WGSBN Bull. 6, #3, 13), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
