(10509) Heinrichkayser Main-belt Asteroid

Discovered on 3 April 1989 by E. W. Elst at La Silla.

Heinrich Gustav Johannes Kayser (1853-1940) was a German physicist who demonstrated the presence of helium in the earth's atmosphere. Using the spectra of a large number of elements, he discovered closely grouped spectral lines, the spacing and intensity of which vary in a regular manner.Naming citation (20000320/MPCPages.arc), IAU / Minor Planet Center, via NASA/JPL
